Uses

Joint sealing tape for use under tiles or natural stones, designed for the flexible sealing of expansion joints. The substrate consists of a knitted base of modified polyester with a permanent finish, while the coating is a thermoplastic elastomer, highly resistant to aging. SR TAPE sealing tape has been categorized according to EMICODE EC 1 PLUS, VOCregulation A +, while offering very good behavior against chemicals. The tape is used for waterproofing /sealing of joints in wet areas (bathrooms, kitchens, etc.). Suitable for use indoors on various substrates such as concrete, cement mortar, plasterboard, old layers of tiles, mosaic, masonry, etc. It is suitable for moderate to high moisture loads without pressure, in indoor areas such as domestic bathrooms and showers, for public or private use. After the waterproofing has cured, you can proceed to the next step (e.g. applying a waterproofing mortar).

Advantages

• Excellent workability – highly flexible
• Ideal for waterproofing wet areas with the MARMOLINE AQUATA ELASTIC or AQUATA FL systems
• Increases the strength of the waterproofing system
• Increases the flexibility of the waterproofing system
• Resistant to alkalis
• Durable

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION

The substrate must be stable, solid, dry and free of dust, loosely adhering particles and all kinds of contaminants. Prepare the waterproofing mortar (MARMOLINE AQUATA ELASTIC or AQUATA FL) and apply it evenly to the corner area. Form and correctly position a suitable piece of sealing tape in each corner. Using a trowel, press the excess waterproofing mortar outwards and smooth it evenly. Before application to the joints, cut the sealing tape to the required length of the wall joint. A minimum overlap of 50 mm must be provided at the sealing corner. Apply the waterproofing mortar evenly along the wall/floor junction. Position the sealing tape and press it firmly into place using a trowel. Press the excess mortar out to the sides and smooth it evenly. To ensure secure overlapping of the tape at corners and joints, apply a second coat of waterproofing mortar.

TOOLS CLEANING

With plenty of water immediately after use. Hardened and/or cured material can only be removed by mechanically means.
